Math doesn't have to be the fight at your kitchen table.

If everything else is going fine and it's just math, you don't need a whole new school. You need a patient math teacher who sits with your child every school day and teaches from the book you already own. $29 a month. That's less than one hour with most tutors.

Hey,

You know the moment. The worksheet comes out, your kid's shoulders go up, and ten minutes later somebody's crying. Maybe both of you. You explain it the way you learned it, which isn't how the book does it, and now it's two methods and one frustrated kid. You're not bad at this. You're just one person trying to be patient with the one subject that wears everybody out.

A tutor helps, if you can afford one every week and drive to them. Most of us can't. So here's the plain question a parent asked us, and the plain answer:

"Is there something for just one subject?"

Yes. Use her for math and nothing else. Your child taps Math every day, and the other four subjects just sit on the dashboard, untouched, if you ever want them. Nobody makes you do a full homeschool day to get the math.

The price is the same either way: $29 a month per child. We don't charge by the subject, and there isn't a cheaper math-only plan, because it's the same teacher whether she teaches one subject or five.

Tutor rates: about $25 to $40 an hour for elementary math and $50 to $100 for high school math, per K12's homeschool tutoring guide.

What a math lesson actually looks like

"Aren't math apps cheaper?" Some are. A drill app hands out problems and keeps score, and when your child gets one wrong, it shows the answer. She has your child show the work, finds the step that went sideways, and teaches that step. An app drills. She teaches. If drilling is what your kid needs, an app is a fine call, and I'd rather you buy the right thing.

Try her on the subject that's hurting

Start with the free placement. She sits down with your child, figures out where they actually are in math, and you see it before you pay a thing. No card needed.

The honest fine print.

She's an AI teacher, not a live human tutor, and she taught a real homeschooled kid at our own kitchen table before any other family met her. She's not allowed to guess: if a photo of the work is too blurry to read, she says so and asks for a retake.

$29 a month covers one child. Each child gets their own teacher and their own progress record, so two kids is $58. Kitchen Table School is a teacher and a curriculum, not an accredited school, and the parent stays the homeschool teacher of record. Kitchen Table School is a trade name of Merlene Mitigation LLC, a Texas company.
